In 1997, Jeffrey Kittay, publisher of Lingua Franca, engaged us in a soup-to-nuts development of his new ideaa controlled-circulation publication for top business decision-makers at colleges and universities.
We refined the concept, surveyed prospective readers about their needs, developed an editorial prospectus spelling out the strategy and contents in detail, and worked with designers to formulate the look. We even served as editors for the first two issues.
RESULTS:
UB was named by Library Journal one of the top 10 new magazines of 1998.
In 2001 UB took in $1.2 million in ad revenue.
